The 6 Kalmas: The Foundation of Islam

The 6 Kalmas are the six fundamental beliefs and declarations of faith in Islam, and are a cornerstone of Muslim belief and practice. They are:

اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَہٗ لَاشَرِيْكَ لَہٗ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهٗ وَرَسُولُہٗ‎

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

What will you Learn

Kalma Tayyibah

Laa ilaaha illallah” – “There is no god but Allah.

Kalma Shahadah:

Ashhadu an laa ilaaha illallah, ashhadu anna Muhammadun abduhu wa rasuluh” – “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger

Kalma Tamjeed:

“Subhanallah” – “Glory be to Allah”

Kalma Tawhid

Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billah” – “There is no power or strength except with Allah

Kalma Istighfar:

“Astaghfirullah” – “I seek forgiveness from Allah”

Kalma Radd Kufr:

“Laa ilaaha illallah, wa na’budu illa iyyahu” – “There is no god but Allah, and we worship none but Him”

UNDERSTANDING THE 6 KALMAS

These six declarations of faith are the foundation of Islam, and are a reminder of the core beliefs and values that guide Muslims in their daily lives. They emphasize the unity and oneness of Allah, the importance of Muhammad (PBUH) as His final messenger, and the need for humility, forgiveness, and devotion to Allah.
